Agent Carter TV Series? Marvel's Jeph Loeb Talks the Studio's TV Future

Agent Carter Short Film

Following yesterday's panel for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., studio chief Jeph Loeb joined IGN (video embedded below) to talk about the future of Marvel's television work...and in particular about rumors that there could be a series based on Agent Peggy Carter, the love interest from Captain America: The First Avenger who will have a brief appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

"Wouldn't that be great?" Loeb teased. "That's what I love about Hayley [Atwell] is that she thinks that's a good idea. It's like when you have all the ingredients to make a really yummy sandwich: that's what you want to do is make that sandwich, hopefully."

In the grander scheme of things, even if Agent Carter weren't to take shape the way they hope, Loeb acknowledged that Marvel is planning more live-action TV...but not until they've got their feet under them with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"That's certainly the plan," Loeb said, "We took our lessons from the studio. The studio came out, they made Iron Man, then two years later they made Iron Man 2. Then the leap to make Thor and Cpatain America, when you think about that, to make two movies in a year, doubled their output. It's the same kind of thing. We just want to make sure that S.H.I.E.L.D. is up, it's running, it's the show that people expect and it's on good, solid ground with great acting, spectacular visual effects, really having that sort of epic adventure feel with human spirit tied into it and just the right dose of humor. If we get that right, obviously a lot more becomes open to us but by the same token we're not in any kind of rush."
