Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Spoiler: Lucy Lawless Talks Shocking Ending

Spoiler Warning for the Season 2 premiere of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Lucy Lawless made her debut as Izzy Hartley on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in last night's Season 2 premiere, titled "Shadows."

Unfortunately for Lawless' fans, she seems to have met her end in the same episode. Cutting off her arm to stop the petrifying effects of a mysterious 084 proved to be in vain when the Absorbing Man flipped her getaway vehicle, leaving her dead in the back seat.

Of course, fans shouldn't forget that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is set in a superhero universe. People do tend to come back from the dead, from time to time, including Director Phil Coulson himself.

For her part, Lawless maintains that anything is possible and says that, even if her character isn't resurrected, she could always be brought back for flashback scenes.

"It's whatever the writers want to write. All things are possible in SHIELD," Lawless told The Hollywood Reporter. "That's what I love in this sci-fi comic world. There are no absolutes. There are no bottom lines. Every boundary is bendable."

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
