Earlier this morning, Rose Higgins (Ripley's Believe It or Not, Extraordinary People), the actress that played 'Legless Suzi' on FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show, passed away at the age of 43.

On Monday, Higgins went into a Denver hospital "for a kidney stone surgery" and according to TMZ she never left. This is because Higgins "contracted an infection, which spread through her body and ultimately became fatal."

When Higgins was born, her doctors diagnosed her with sacral agenesis and by the age 2 her legs were amputated. Later in life, against long odds, she became the first woman with the rare genetic disorder to give birth to "a normal child." She accomplished the feat not once, but twice.

Learn more about Higgins' life in the featurette below.

A GoFundMe account has been setup to collection donations for Siggins' medical bills and funeral expenses as well as to help support her two children, Luke and Shelby.
