Bolivar

, an original graphic novel by Sean Rubin, hasn't hit the stands yet. That won't happen until May of next year, when Archaia Entertainment is slated to release the book. However, Warner Brothers has already bought the rights to adapt the graphic novel as an animated feature film. The movie, which will be directed by Irish Film & TV Award winner Kealan O'Rourke, is set to be produced by Akiva Goldsman, who has been attached to comic book flops Constantine, The Losers and Jonah Hex as well as hits like I Am Legend, Hancock and TV's Fringe. He and his Weed Road partner Kerry Foster will executive produce, along with Archaia's Stephen Christy and P.J. Bickett, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which describes the story as follows:

Written and illustrated by Sean Rubin, the graphic novel centres on a young girl named Sybil who moves to New York and finds out her neighbor is Bolivar, the last living dinosaur.  Despite Sybil's persistent efforts, Bolivar refuses to befriend her. The dinosaur is somewhat of a recluse, tucked away from the world Sybil so desperately wants him to explore with her.  He soon realizes how much she means to him and that he would risk everything for her.

Archaia also has two other graphic novels: Rust and Lucid, which are in development for feature films. They also develop work based on Jim Henson productions like Fraggle Rock and A Tale of Sand. The publisher recently announced a partnership with Jeff Corwin of ABC's Ocean Mysteries to publish I Am Not a Plastic Bag, a "green" graphic novel.
