Archie Comics Heads to Hoopla, the Digital Library App

If you've got a library card at one of more than 950 participating library systems, you can sign up for Hoopla -- a new app and website that allows readers (and watchers, and listeners) to borrow up to fifty media items a month, free of charge, on compatible digital devices.

And if you sign up for Hoopla, you can check out Archie Comics -- including their latest and greatest, like Archie Volume 1 from Mark Waid and Fiona Staples -- who joined the Hoopla library just in time for Free Comic Book Day.

Archie joins DC Comics, Image Comics, and a number of other mainstream publishers in releasing graphic novels and collected editions to the format, where they're "shelved" beside notable music, movie, book, and audiobook publishers.

In Archie's case, they're also making single issues available on Hoopla.

With the agreement, hoopla digital's app and online service adds popular titles from Archie Comics' three imprints – including acclaimed, best-selling titles such as the revamped Archie and Jughead; video game favorites like Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man; and Archie's Dark Circle comics featuring genre-defying superheroes like The Black Hood. hoopla digital will also add the newly announced Betty and Veronica relaunch following the debut of the first issue this summer.
