Jessica De Gouw, a TV actress whose upcoming role on the Kath & Kimderella TV movie seemed until now likely to be her breakout role, has been cast as The Huntress on CW's DC Comics adaptation, Arrow. The Australian actress will step into the role of Helena Bertinelli in a multi-episode arc that casts The Huntress as a potential love interest for Oliver Queen, according to Entertainment Weekly. Her arc will begin around the series' sixth episode. "Helena is a potential love interest for Oliver Queen; a fellow vigilante, set on destroying her father's organized crime empire," says The CW's official character blurb. "But Helena's blind pursuit of revenge will put her on a collision course with the Arrow." In the pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths iteration of DC Comics, Helena Wayne was the Huntress, the daughter of Batman and Catwoman in an alternate universe where the pair got a now-familiar happily ever after. After Crisis, she was reinvented as Bertinelli, a practicing Catholic with a crossbow and an axe to grind. Now, she co-headlines Worlds' Finest along with Power Girl in the (once again reinvented) DC Universe of the New 52.
