The Scientist

On last night's episode of Arrow, the audience learned that -- as most suspected -- Summer Glau's Isabel Rochev was up to no good. Her icy relationship with Moira Queen, along with her comments about the "sins of the father," suggest that they might be aping a story from the comics in which she had a brief affair with Robert Queen, after whom she essentially patterned her life and whose company she eventually took over (a task she accomplished on the TV series last night). But what a number of fans discovered today is that Rochev has apparently been blended with another character for the purposes of Arrow, as photos taken on the set of Arrow's penultimate Season Two episode "Streets of Fire" seemingly reveal what she's been hiding all season long.

You can see here that she's wearing a Ravager costume. In the comics, Rose Wilson -- the daughter of Slade -- is Ravager, wearing a modified version of Deathstroke's costume. She's often been depicted as an antihero working with or against the Teen Titans, depending on the story and writer. On TV, Slade has referenced his son, but never a daughter; since Manu Bennett is only 12 years older than Summer Glau, it seems likely that this version of Ravager may be actually Isabel, either instead of or as a kind of early version of the character. Of course, it could mean not very much at all; other leaked set photos have shown us an army of people (presumably the convicts he recruited on last night's episode) wearing Deathstroke-like costumes. Arrow returns on April 16.
