In 2012, Marvel's The Avengers set several box office records. One of the most impressive ones has to be grossing $207M in its 3-day opening weekend. But records were made to be broken and Boxoffice.com is predicting that Avengers: Age Of Ultron will top it with a $217M opening weekend.

Phil Contrino, chief analyst at Boxoffice.com, put together that forecast based on the number and intensity of posts on Twitter and Facebook, which are overwhelmingly positive. Their researchers have never seen a film receive that strong of feedback before.

Disney will certainly be excited with the record-breaking forecast, especially if it holds true, but analyst do see one bit of negative news. "It is unlikely Avengers: Age of Ultron will be a more profitable film than the original, given that talent costs will have increased, but if it is it won't be by a lot more," Doug Creutz, an analyst at Cowen Group in San Francisco said. 2012's The Avengers grossed $1.5B at the global box office and cost $220M to make.
