The Avengers: Age of Ultron has received its release date for China, opening in the world's second-largest film market on May 12.

The film hits overseas almost two weeks after its U.S. release, which is May 1st, and even longer after its United Kingdom release on April 23. The sequel is currently being translated from English into Chinese by the Chinese film group Mtime.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 2012's The Avengers grossed $84 million at the Chinese box office. With director Joss Whedon's sequel expected to blow past its original earnings stateside, it seems likely that the Chinese market will perform similarly.

Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader as Ultron.
