DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Jim Lee just tweeted out the image at right, which is his We Can Be Heroes variant cover to Batman/Superman #1 by Greg Pak and Jae Lee. The anticipated series, one of a pair of new Superman-related titles launching around the release of Man of Steel, kicks off with a story that features Superman and Batman in their first meeting, back when Superman was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and Superman was new to the game. This variant, though, is an exclusive that only backers of the We Can Be Heroes IndieGoGo campaign can qualify for. Lee, the former Batman and Justice League artist who kicks off Superman Unchained with writer Scott Snyder next month, provided the cover as a fundraising incentive and it will not be solicited or reprinted elsewhere. Also notable is the logo, which appears to draw inspiration from the Batman: The Animated Series logo. It's always possible that this is a mock-up being used for the IndieGoGo site, but it seems more likely that fans have their first look at the trade dress for Batman/Superman. The campaign, which has three days remaining, has made $138,000 out of a $50,000 goal.
