Airship Syndicate has launched the Kickstarter for Battle Chasers: Nightwar. To Commemorate the occasion, the developer has also released the first gameplay trailer for the game.

Check it out below:

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is based on Joe Madureira's cult favorite fantasy comic, and will be a companion story to the original 9-issue Battle Chasers series. Madureira is working with members of the Vigil Games team that created Darksiders and Darksiders 2.

Check out the Kickstarter video below:

Here's the game's story, according to the Kicsktarter page:

The Grey Line. An impenetrable wall of mist hovering over the West Waters, stretching endless from north to south, and towering from ocean crest to dark sky above.

Nothing has ever come from, or survived entering, the historic monolith. The great hero Aramus felt a calling from the Grey Line and crossed, despite the dangers. And like countless warriors, vagabonds, fugitives and fortune seekers before him, never returned. Now, his daughter Gully and her unlikely band of adventurers venture into the mist to uncover her father's mission.

Along the way they'll meet friend and foe alike while piecing together the silent history of the Grey Line, and the dark secrets within.

The game will feature classic JRPG combat and emphasize resource management as players explore it's randomly generated dungeons. Sounds like a marriage of Final Fantasy and Bastion, and that's something we're into.

You can support Battle Chasers: Nightwar at the game's Kickstarter page.
