During fiming on Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Chris Evans and Frank Grillo apparently couldn't make the elevator fight scene look good without actually whaling on one another, so they ended up covered in bruises for days, according to a new profile of Grillo in Entertainment Weekly.
“There were a couple times in that elevator scene where [Evans] said, ‘Dude, you’re hitting me,” Grillo recalled for the magazine. “I go, ‘We are in an elevator. My stunt guy’s not coming in here. They won’t be able to shoot your face. We gotta do this.’ And we just start punching each other. We did that scene for six days. We were literally covered in black and blues. That’s why I love him.”
It's not yet confirmed whether Grillo will return for Captain America: Civil War, but it's generally expected he will. That film will be in theaters on May 6, 2016.
