Colin Farrell Cast In Harry Potter Spinoff Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

True Detective Season 2 star Colin Farrell has joined the cast of the Harry Potter spinoff movie Fantastic Beats and Where To Find Them, THR reports. Farrell will play a wizard named Graves who meets Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in New York.

Fantastic Beasts take place 70 years prior to the events of the Harry Potter series, telling the story of how Scamander adventured throughout the wizarding world to seek out and document magical creatures, eventually creating the text book that gives the movie its name, which was used by Harry and friends in classes at Hogwarts.

Fantastic Beasts is being directed by Harry Potter veteran David Yates.
