Gerry Conway, the Silver Age Amazing Spider-Man writer best known for killing Gwen Stacy and creating The Punisher, will return to the ol' webhead soon.

The series hasn't yet been announced, but we know it exists because of a tweet made yesterday by Conway:

Marvel Comics had no comment when we reached them to clarify.

Conway could be one of the veteran Spider-Man creators teased as part of the Spider-Verse Team-Up miniseries being launched in November from head writer Christos Gage and a revolving team of talent...but his use of "miniseries"  and the possibility that it could run as late as the spring seem to indicate otherwise, since Team Up is only three issues launching in November.

That Conway is so closely associated with Gwen Stacy is also potentially interesting, since an alternate-universe version of the character has become a major draw in the ongoing Spider-Verse event, leading some to suggest she might be a good candidate to headline her own comic.

In addition to long runs on The Amazing Spider-ManThe Fury of Firestorm, The Nuclear Man and more, Conway wrote Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man and co-created the character of Felicity Smoak, who appears regularly on Arrow.
