Here's one that hits home: on April 27, 2011, a string of vicious, deadly tornados blasted the Southeast. Alabama was especially hit hard, where communities were literally wiped off the map. As someone who went to school in that State, I've had friends and family who were personally affected. They've been able to pick up the pieces, but others are still struggling. They need help, and 12 Gauge Comics is stepping up. 'Country Ass-Whuppin': A Tornado Relife Anthology' will hit shelves in October, and 100% of the proceeds from this book will go directly to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Written by a stable of comic book creators with roots/ties to the south, this anthology looks like it should be a lot of fun. The stories have one thing in common-- they are all about people in the south kickin' ass or getting their asses kicked. Enjoy both tall-tales and true stories, told by some of the best in the business; including Jason Aaron (X-MEN: SCHISM, WOLVERINE), Sean Patrick Flanery (BOONDOCK SAINTS), Cully Hamner (RED, BLUE BEETLE), Brian Stelfreeze (ICE, WEDNESDAY COMICS), Rebekah Isaacs (IRON AGE, ANGEL & FAITH), Jason Pearson (ASTONISHING X-MEN, DEADPOOL), Nathan Edmondson (WHO IS JAKE ELLIS?) and many more. So come October, snag a copy when you're out buying your weekly comics. You'll have some fun with a special comic book, but you'll also help some folks that really need it.
