Crystal Pepsi Is Coming Back

The nostalgia factory is operating at full capacity as PepsiCo today announced it is bringing back Crystal Pepsi as a limited edition (even more limited than its original run) contest prize.

The contest will take place on Dec. 10 and 11 via the Pepsi Pass app. Pepsi will choose 13,000 winners to receive a six-pack 16-oz. bottles of the previously extinct.

Crystal Pepsi was only available on store shelves from 1992 through 1994, but has become part of the cultural shorthand for the entire '90s decade.

"We have a lot of fans and they're really enthusiastic and they've been asking for Crystal to come back for a long time," Linda Lagos, marketing director for the Pepsi brand told CNN Money. "We thought it would be special to bring a holiday treat to our fans."

Pepsi pulled a similar stunt earlier this year, when it released a limited run of Pepsi Perfect in honor of the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future.
