We know that the Marvel Studios Netflix shows co-exist with Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the other Avengers movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What we don't know is when we'll see a Netflix character appear in a Marvel Studios film. The same question has been plaguing Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil in the upcoming series.

"I've been reading Civil War - and Daredevil does appear in that. And look - again, just to clarify - I have not been called about that. I haven't been invited to that party! But it would be very, very cool. Just to be in the background, saying cool stuff every now and then. It would be cool to be with all those guys," Cox told IGN.

Unless Cox is lying, it doesn't look like Daredevil will be appearing in Captain America: Civil War which has begun filming in Atlanta for it's May 2016 release. It wouldn't be the first time an actor told us they were not involved with a film then turned out to be fibbing, though. Anthony Mackie repeatedly said he hadn't heard anything about Avengers: Age of Ultron only for us to find out Sam Wilson is, in fact, in the ensemble film. So, we can hope.

Before leaving the question, Cox went on to share his vision of himself in the background as "Just a blur of red!" If anything can be taken from this statement, it's a reiteration of the fact that we will definitely see the red Daredevil suit we've come to know in the comic books.

Would you like to see Daredevil in Marvel's Captain America: Civil War? Who's side do you think he would take?

Daredevil is available for streaming on Netflix April 10, 2015, and Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6, 2016.
