Dark Knight Star Bale In Talks for Everest

Christian Bale, star of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, is in talks to star in Everest, a mountain climbing disaster movie based on true events, reports Deadline. The film, which will dramatize the same events that were documented in Jon Krakauer's documentary Into Thin Air, traces a sudden storm which hit three separate expeditions to climb the mountain, killing eight climbers. Krakauer's film was a first-person account, as he was one of the survivors. The new film will be based on a number of different books, interviews and first-person accounts. The film will team Bale with Baltasar Kormákur, who just directed The Deep, another true story of survival amid natural disaster. The film follows a fisherman who tried to stay alive after his boat capsizes in frigid water.
