David Morrissey The Governor

The Walking Dead TV show now has its Governor. Ending months of speculation over if The Governor would be a part of the Walking Dead TV series and if so who would play him, AMC officially announced that David Morrissey has been cast in the role of The Governor. However, don't look for The Governor to show up during the current second season of The Walking Dead. AMC revealed that The Governor won't appear until the third season of The Walking Dead. But it sure would make for an awesome cliffhanger if The Governor showed up in the final scene of the second season finale. David Morrissey is an English actor and director, who has appeared in several British television series.  Some of his TV roles were in shows such as State of Play, Meadowlands, The Deal and Blackpool. Morrissey has also appeared in several films, including The Reaping, Basic Instinct 2, The Other Boleyn Girl, Centurion, The Water Horse, Nowhere Boy and Blitz. In the Walking Dead comic book series, The Governor is the leader of Woodbury, which is a small settlement of survivors. The Governor is a ruthless and brutal leader, and he is a major adversary for Rick Grimes and his group. The Walking Dead Season 3 has been confirmed as a sixteen episode season, and filming is set to get under this upcoming spring in Atlanta, Georgia. The Walking Dead airs on Sundays at 9 PM ET.
