Deadpool Celebrates Betty White's 94th Birthday

Yesterday, actress, comedian and national treasure, Betty White, turned 94-years-young and one of her biggest fans, Deadpool, made sure to wish the Hot in Cleveland and Golden Girls star a happy birthday.

The official Deadpool twitter account tweeted, "'The older you get, the better you get. Unless you're a banana.' You, ma'am, are no banana. #HBD #BettyWhite" The message came with an image of the Merc with a Mouth holding a photograph of Betty White wearing pink rabbit ears.

This is the third Golden Girls reference that the film's marketing campaign has made. In July, the cast tweeted lyrics from the show's iconic theme song and two months later an image was shared of Deadpool, Rose, Blanche, Dorothy and Sophia as yarn figures hanging out.

In the comics, Deadpool has often expressed a love for Golden Girls, though, much of his admiration is centered on his sexual attraction for the late, great Bea Arthur.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, 2016.
