Devon Aoki Cast As Katana In Arrow Season 3

Model and actress Devon Aoki has joined the cast of Arrow as Tatsu Yamashiro, a.k.a. Katana, according to Deadline. Aoki has previously appeared in films including 2 Fast 2 Furious and Sin City.

Katana was originally created by Mike Barr and Jim Aparo in The Brave and the Bold #200 as a member of the Outsiders, and would later join the Birds of Prey. In the New 52, she became a member of Amanda Waller's Justice League of America and had a short-lived solo series in 2013.

Katana derives her name from her Japanese blade, which absorbs and allows her to communicate with the souls of anyone she kills with it. She is a master martial artist and samurai warrior.

In Arrow, Katana will be seen in flashback sequences as one of Oliver Queen's mentors. Katana is said to be a critical influence on Oliver's journey to becoming Arrow.
