Earlier this month, Marvel officially announced a sequel to Ant-Man. Now the studio is in negotiations to bring back Peyton Reed to direct Ant-Man and the Wasp, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ant-Man has earned $455 at the global box office, so far. It just opened in China and has already grossed $43.2M. It has a domestic total of $178M, which puts it in the top ten at the U.S. box office.

"There are no writers yet for the sequel," THR reports. "Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Adam McKay and Paul Rudd were the credited writers on the first go, and it is all but certain Wright and Cornish won't be back for the sequel."

Marvel's Ant-Man - Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

The sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, will arrive in theaters July 6, 2018.
