Disney D23 Expo

As part of their D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, Disney will be holding a special presentation on Saturday, August 10 to discuss plans for upcoming live action movies from Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. The "Let the Adventures Begin: Live Action at The Walt Disney Studios" presentation is scheduled to run from 10:30 AM PT to 12:30 PM PT. Disney recently updated the details for the presentation to include that they will be making some surprise announcements. Both Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm are part of the presentation, so some of the surprise announcements should involve films from both of those studios. Marvel Studios didn't make any new film announcements at 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, and it has been widely speculated that they were saving some major announcements for D23. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has indicated it will probably be another year before fans learn about Marvel Studios plans for 2016 and 2017. However, he did indicate they had some other special things planned for D23. In regards to Lucasfilm, there are several surprise announcements that could be made. There are rumors that Lucasfilm will finally officially announce that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford will be part of Star Wars Episode VII. It's also possible that Lucasfilm might announce some more details on the Star Wars solo films that are planned.
