The BBC have released a new clip from Wednesday's Doctor Who Christmas special, "The Time of the Doctor," which will see Matt Smith's iteration of the character regernate into Peter Capaldi, setting the stage for the new season with a new Doctor. The clip, which you can see embedded below, starts with a pretty typical sitcom trope: "I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend for Christmas dinner!" but quickly takes a turn when The Doctor realizes that he's made unexpected contact and needs to follow up. The special airs at 7:30 p.m. in the U.K. and 9/8 Central in the U.S. on Christmas.
