Doctor Who Simulcast Blamed For Script Leak

While the BBC is pleading with fans not to share leaked Doctor Who scripts that have made their way online, the Radio Times reports that they were likely lost in translation -- literally.

Becuase the Season Premiere will be globally simulcast, the script for the episode had to be shipped around to prepare subtitles for non-English-speaking countries.

The report claims that the scripts were leaked as they were being sent to the BBC's Latin American headquarters in Miami.

Of course, it wasn't just the premiere. In all, five scripts -- some of which may not yet be completed, according to BBC Worldwide -- have made their way online. The BBC say that they are investigating the leak.

"BBC Worldwide is currently investigating a security issue around Doctor Who Series 8 where unfinished material has inadvertently been made public. We deeply regret this and apologise to all the show's fans, the BBC and the cast and crew who have worked tirelessly making the series.

"We would like to make a plea to anyone who might have any of this material and spoilers associated with it not to share it with a wider audience so that everyone can enjoy the show as it should be seen when it launches. We know only too well that Doctor Who fans are the best in the world and we thank them for their help with this and their continued loyalty."

"Deep Breath," the feature-length premiere episode of the eighth series, will air on BBC1 on Saturday, August 23, although there is a premiere set to take place on August 7 where some fans will be able to see Peter Capaldi's first full episode as The Doctor.
