Button Man: The Killing Game

, a graphic novel by Judge Dredd creator John Wagner, will be adapted into a film and Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn is attached, according to a story at Deadline. The book, by Wagner and Arthur Ranson, revolves around "a hired gun who's offered a fortune to take part in a game organized by bored millionaires that sets trained killers against one another in a fight to the death."  When he tires of being hunted for sport and wants out of the game, it's clear that the only way to accomplish that is by killing the rich and powerful men running the show. Refn's plate is pretty full right now, with the Drive sequel Only God Forgives in post-production at present and a slew of movies including a Logan's Run remake on his radar, as well as another crime thriller with Drive star Carey Mulligan. Whether this film--to which his attachment is still tentative--will even happen is unclear at this stage, but the graphic novel--kind of a combination of RED and The Hunger Games--seems a perfect fit for the current box office and it would be interesting to see what kind of interest Button Man could generate.
