Marvel Comics has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive first look at Ed McGuinness' variant cover for Legendary Star-Lord #2.

In this issue, written by Sam Humphries and drawn by Paco Medina, Peter Quill is captured by a bounty hunter with a strange connection to his past. Peter will have to try to make amends before he's fed to a giant alien. And who is the mysterious Mr. Knife, and what does he want with Star-Lord?

Legendary Star-Lord #2 goes on sale August 6.

Star-Lord will also appear in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy film, opening August 1.
