Marvel Comics has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive preview of S.H.I.E.L.D. #9, celebrating the titular organization's 50th Anniversary. The issue features the talents of Mark Waid, Lee Ferguson, Jack Kirby, Jim Steranko and more.
The issue's story unites Agent Phil Coulson and Nick Fury Sr. in a cross-time adventure. Together, they try to answer a question at the heart of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s origin: who is The Man Called D.E.A.T.H.?
The issue also features the return of Dum Dum Duggan, the creation of a new team of Howling Commandos, a reprint of the first ever S.H.I.E.L.D. story from 1965, and the original pilot presentation that inspired S.H.I.E.L.D.'s creation.
