After a long wait, fans are finally being treated to a sneak preview of the soundtrack for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The main title track has just been posted to Youtube, prompting fans to save the single and revisit the Harry Potter franchise's iconic orchestral numbers.

Composter James Newton Howard is the man responsible for the swelling theme. The Grammy and Emmy Award-winning musician has worked on other blockbusters like The Hunger Games franchise, The Dark Knight, Snow White and the Huntsman, and more. Howard spent seven months composing the soundtrack for Fantastic Beasts, and his newly released title track clearly shows how much effort he put into the collection.

The song kicks off with a rather familiar start. A few bars of "Hedwig's Theme" begin the theme before Howard's original, thunderous work kicks in. The rich composition is complex and somewhat dark, leading fans to wonder how Fantastic Beasts will open to this track.

Pottermore debuted the song and the full track list for the Fantastic Beasts soundtrack. The site spoke with Howard about his work, and he revealed a bit of information about the film's opening theme.

'You hear the main theme song of the movie play when the main crew arrive at the MACUSA the first time and various other times,' he said. 'You hear this haunting kind of theme. If you had to say what is the theme for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for now and in the future, it would be that theme. I wrote it on my piano because I believe that if that kind of thing is going to be good, it should be done that simply.'

The full soundtrack for Fantastic Beasts will stand at 72 minutes while a deluxe edition will debut later with almost 100 minutes. The second album will include several exclusive tracks like "The Demiguise and the Lollipop" and "I'm Not Your Ma." Both soundtracks will go on sale on November 18. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter. Rowling is also writing the script for the sequel. Fantastic Beasts has been planned as a trilogy of films inspired by the Hogwarts textbook of the same name, which Rowling wrote and had published in 2001. The film follows Newt Scamander (Redmayne), the author of said textbook) , in the 1920s, while he was still researching magical creatures. The magizoologists make his way to New York City with his suitcase full of magical creatures. When some of those creatures manage to escape, it creates tension between the American magical community, governed by the Magical Congress of the United States of America, and the No-Maj (American muggle) community.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
