Find Your Closest Pokemon GO Gym With This Handy Map

Pokemon GO uses real world sites as locations for PokeStops and gyms, where players can battle their Pokemon and collect items. However, a lot of fans don't have time to explore their surroundings to find the nearest Pokemon Gym or don't know where to start searching. Luckily, some fans are working on crowdsourcing a map to help players locate the nearest Pokemon GO gym.

The map is a custom Google Map and shows over 600 different PokeStops and Pokemon gym locations across the country. It's far from a complete map, but its creators are hoping that more people add PokeStops to build a more comprehensive database.

If you don't see your town represented on the Google Map above, there is another more complicated way to find PokeStops and gyms. Players can download Ingress and create an account (it uses your Google account, just like Pokemon GO). You can then go onto Ingress's "Intel" website to see the locations of all nearby portals, most of which double as PokeStops or Gyms in Pokemon Go.

It's likely that Niantic Labs will eventually release a similar map for Pokemon GO, but this map should at least give players a spot to look in the meantime.
