Finding Dory Passes $900 Million At Worldwide Box Office

Disney keeps finding gold at the box office this year, and their latest Pixar led film Finding Dory has sailed past the $900 million mark.

The heavily anticipated film joins Captain America: Civil War at $1.15 billion, Zootopia at $1 billion, and The Jungle Book at $949 million at the top of the box office winnings for Disney, but the number is even more impressive when you factor in that the film has yet to open in Italy or Germany. So far the film has brought in over $420 million overseas (via Deadline).

Finding Dory released back on June 17th and tallied $135 million in its opening debut. That cements it as the biggest opening ever for an animated film domestically, and so far it has the honor of being the highest-grossing film of the year at a domestic total of $476 million. Even among other Pixar films, Dory impresses, as it ranks as the third highest-grossing title in the company's history behind Toy Story 3 ($1.06 billion) and Finding Nemo ($936 million).

The film currently sits at a stellar 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and an equally impressive 88% audience score. Even when its theatric run is over, the film will continue to be a powerhouse through the holiday season on home video and digital releases.
