Star Wars Episode 7 filming location

In all the excitement over Disney announcing that J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars Episode 7, another little nugget of major Star Wars news has leaked out which seems to be getting overlooked. Reportedly, the very first filming location for Star Wars Episode 7 has been revealed. According to a report in The Sun, Disney executives have picked a location in Kent, England to film battle scenes for Star Wars Episode 7. The location is reported to be a disused quarry in Greenhithe, which is near the Bluewater mall. While this information is of course unconfirmed by Disney, it would not be surprising for Star Wars Episode 7 to at least partially film in England. Several scenes from previous Star Wars movies were filmed in the UK. Also, the disused quarry in question has reportedly been used as a Doctor Who filming location, so it must have an other worldly look. Star Wars Episode 7 is due to be released in theaters sometime in 2015.
