First Star Wars Episode VII Returning Character Confirmed By J.J. Abrams

While it's still unconfirmed as to if Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia will return for Star Wars Episode VII, J.J. Abrams has now confirmed one character that will be returning. Earlier today, J.J. Abrams' production company Bad Robot tweeted the image above, along with the text, "Hi from the workshop! #StarWarsVII." It's technically the first behind-the-scenes photo released for Star Wars Episode VII, and it will be interesting to see if Bad Robot continues to share more photos throughout the production process. Of course, R2D2 has appeared in all of the Star Wars episodes to date, so it's not a real surprise that he's returning, but it's nice to have confirmation. Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on December 18, 2015.
