Five Shocking Moments from Supergirl - Manhunter
Tonight's episode of Supergirl introduced a major piece of DC Comics lore and shook the DEO to its [...]
Jeremiah Danvers Tosses Hank Henshaw Off a Cliff
During an interrogation with Jim Harper and Lucy Lane, J'onn J'onzz finally revealed how Hank Henshaw and Jeremiah Danvers died. While searching for the Martian in South America, Jeremiah met and befriended J'onn J'onzz. Discovering that J'onn was merely a refugee from a fallen planet, Jeremiah promised that he'd protect the Martian from harm...moments before Henshaw stormed out the jungle armed with a rifle specifically made to kill the Martian. Danvers desperately tried to stop Henshaw, but the DEO leader turned on his agent and stabbed him in the gut with a knife. In one final act of desperation, Jeremiah got one final drop on Henshaw and tossed him off a cliff. Looks like the "real" Hank Henshaw won't be coming back anytime soon.
prevnextProject Cadmus
After conducting interrogations of both J'onn and Alex, Colonel Jim Harper decides to bring them both to the secretive Project Cadmus. If you're a Superman fan, you're probably familiar with Project Cadmus, the government sponsored cloning project that created the Modern Age Superboy. It seems that Supergirl's universe has a Project Cadmus too, although it doesn't sound nearly as pleasant as the comic book version. Project Cadmus is the government's testing ground for aliens, dissecting them and harvesting their genetics for human testing. According to Jimmy Olsen, Superman refuses to work for the US government because of Project Cadmus and what they do to alien subjects. It sounds like Non and his army of alien escapees isn't the only threat looming in Supergirl's future.

With her sister and surrogate father figure on their way to a literal government dissection lab, Supergirl decides to put her faith in an unlikely ally: Lucy Lane. After Jimmy brings his ex to Kara's apartment, Kara shows Lucy her secret identity by unbuttoning her shirt to reveal her Supergirl costume. While Lucy is initially angry at Kara for lying about her identity, Kara explains that the only way to fit on Earth as an alien is to lie, even if it means betraying your own personal beliefs. Lucy quickly realizes that helping Jim Harper with his alien witch hunt was betraying her own personal beliefs and she agrees to help Supergirl free J'onn and Alex.
prevnextJeremiah Danvers is Alive?!
When Supergirl and Lucy stop the truck carrying Alex and J'onn to Project Cadmus, J'onn quickly overpowers Colonel Harper. Hoping to erase Harper's memories of that evening, J'onn enters the colonel's mind, but sees a surprising image lurking in Harper's mind: Jeremiah Danvers is somehow alive and being held at Project Cadmus!
Since it's Project Cadmus, there's a good chance that Jeremiah's been subjected to some pretty heinous experiments, but Alex and J'onn are both set on rescuing him from the government's clutches. The pair speed off into the night, leaving Supergirl without her two closest allies.
prevnextLucy Lane: DEO Director
J'onn and Alex might have gone off the grid to find Project Cadmus, but J'onn didn't leave Supergirl entirely without allies. Upon returning to the DEO, Supergirl and Lucy discover that Colonel Harper has resigned (while under J'onn's mind control) and appointed Lucy as the new acting director. It's a good thing that Supergirl has at least one friend at the DEO, because she'll probably need help stopping her newest enemy: Siobhan Smythe, who discovers she has sonic superpowers after surviving a drunken fall off a rooftop during an argument with Winn.
