It's not news to anyone that Marvel is currently winning in the super hero movie category, with films such as Iron Man 2, Spider-Man 4, Thor and Captain America all scheduled for either release or production. DC however is making strides to catch up, with a Ryan Reynolds starring Green Lantern on the way and a supposed reboot of Superman in talks. Is everyone's favorite scarlet speedster, The Flash, back on track to get his own solo film anytime soon? According to film producer Charles Roven, who has wanted to do a Flash film, Warner Bros. has pretty much rejected every idea for the character that he has brought to them, even saying that the character is not a priority for them now. This sets up an interesting contrast though, as Roven said that Warner does want the character to be more of a major presence in the DCU in order to include him in the eventual Justice League film. Adding to the contrast is an update to Roven's comments given by screenwriter Dan Mazeau to IGN.com . In those comments, Mazeau says, "The Flash has not been hobbled. Everything is moving forward as planned." Mazeau went on to say that Flash fans should be excited, as noted writer Geoff Johns is still consulting on the project and that everything is still moving forward. It will be interesting to see if The Flash can rise out of the mire and into the theater. Will it share a similar "development hell" that has plagued a Wonder Woman film for years now?
