Galaga Meets Tekken In Today's Strangest Mobile Game Crossover

Bandai Namco today announced the release of Galaga: Tekken 20TH Anniversary Edition, a mobile crossover game celebrating the 20th anniversary of Namco's Tekken fighting game franchise. The game is available now from the App Store and Google Play as a free download for iOS and Android.

The entirely unexpected crossover combines the characters of Tekken with the gameplay of Galaga; one of the company's most iconic classic arcade games. 

"TEKKEN is one of our longest running franchises and has enjoyed a strong fan following for two decades," said Katsuhiro Harada, Game Director and Chief Producer of the TEKKEN series at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc., in a press release "With Galaga: TEKKEN 20TH Anniversary Edition, we wanted to give our fans something unexpected to celebrate such a huge milestone for TEKKEN. The crossover gameplay is sure to surprise and delight both TEKKEN and Galaga fans."

Galaga: Tekken 20TH Anniversary Edition  also allow players to use Tekken's "Tag" mechanic to call upon an additional character to the game board and double the damage players can deal against enemies. There are special attacks that cause cameo apperances from other Namco game characters.
