There's no rest for the weary, especially in Westeros.
HBO ended season 6 of their massive hit series Game of Thrones on a high note, and while the show doesn't return until next summer, the crew that brings the seven kingdoms to life each Sunday is already hard at work on the much-anticipated new season.
HBO released a new teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, and whether you're a huge fan of the show or decided early on it wasn't for you, you have to appreciate all the hard work and effort that goes into bringing a production like this to millions of viewers every week. It would be an incredible feat for a feature film, let alone a television show.
Quotes from season six can be heard over the production stills, including Cersei's "Shame, Shame, Shame". The clip concludes with Cersei's coronation, where you can hear the words 'Welcome home, my queen". Towards the end of the teaser, the script for episode 1 of season 7 is laid on the table.
Game of Thrones continues to be a juggernaut for HBO, and season 6 was no different. The show averaged 25 million viewers per episode across all platforms, including HBO's On Demand and HBO GO series. It's impressive when you consider that HBO is not a channel that all homes have by default.
Season 7 of the hit show will differ from previous seasons, and will be shortened to just 7 episodes. It remains to be seen if that will increase as we get closer to season 7's debut. You can read a full recap of the season 6 finale here.
