Game Of Thrones Tops The Walking Dead As Most Pirated Show Of 2014

Game of Thrones was the most-pirated TV show of 2014, according to BitTorrent tracker TorrentFreak.

It's the third consecutive year that the hit HBO drama topped the list -- perhaps not surprising, since those without HBO cannot see it legally during the season, as opposed to most non-pay cable series which become available on iTunes and Amazon shortly after a given episode airs.

The 8 million downloads for Game of Thrones was more than the number of traditional, legal views.

The season finale of Game of Thrones nearly doubled the next-most-downloaded show of the season, The Walking Dead. Rounding out the top three is The Big Bang Theory.

The series finale of How I Met Your Mother pushed that series into the top four, followed by Gotham and Arrow. South Park rounded out the top ten.
