Game Of Thrones Wins Emmy Award For Outstanding Drama Series

Game of Thrones took home several Emmy Awards on Sunday night, including the final Emmy of the night. Game of Thrones won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.

Other nominees in the category included Better Call Saul, Downton Abbey, Homeland, House of Cards, Mad Men, and Orange Is the New Black.

The Outstanding Drama Series Emmy Award was presented by comedian Tracy Morgan, who was seriously injured in an automobile accident last year. Morgan received a standing ovation from the audience, and Morgan thanked his doctors and his family for helping him recover.

David Benioff accepted the Emmy on behalf of the cast and crew of Game of Thrones, many of whom joined him on stage. "A few hours from now the greatest crew on the planet is going to get to work in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and Spain," said Benioff. "We wouldn't be standing up here if it wasn't for them."
