Gary Oldman is currently promoting Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, but fielded some questions from Yahoo about the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Oldman played Jim Gordon in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy, and he seems pretty partial to those films, implying that Batman v. Superman has quite a challenge trying to top what Nolan accomplished.

Here's what Oldman had to say:

"They want to keep it going. Of course they do. But, it's Superman yeah? Batman and Superman together? We shall see."

"The thing about Nolan, there was some grounding of reality to it. In our trilogy, and as fantastical and as big as The Joker was, it was based [on reality]… we could relate to it."

"But now we've got a Batman and we've got a guy who can fly who's an alien?! We'll have to see…"

"It's got big shoes to fill".

Oldman did make sure to say that, while he may be critical of Batman v. Superman, its nothing personal, adding "We had our moment in sun."

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to theaters May 6, 2016.
