Gillian Anderson Helps Push Fan Campaign To Bring The X-Files Back

During an interview this week with Chris Hardwick's Nerdist Podcast, The X-Files star Gillian Anderson admitted that she misses playing the part of Dana Scully and would jump at the chance to do so again.

"I would be f***king overjoyed," Anderson said when asked what her reaction would be were The X-Files to get a Twin Peaks-style resurrection/reboot.

In the course of the conversation, which also covered a number of her more recent projects, Anderson encouraged fans to reach out to 20th Century Fox on social media if they wanted to see more X-Files, saying that she's confident everyone on the creative side would be interested if the studio wanted more.

Nerdist helped organize a hashtag -- #XFiles2015 -- to help fans have a more cohesive voice on social media and throughout the week, it has trended in the U.S. and worldwide on and off a few times.
