Marvel Studios continues to sign some surprising names for their Phase Two movies. First, it was Robert Redford in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Now, it's Glenn Close in Guardians Of The Galaxy. According to Deadline, Glenn Close has been signed to a major role in Guardians Of The Galaxy. While a specific name isn't given for her character, it is said that she is playing a leadership role in Nova Corp. The role is being described as similar to the role that Samuel L. Jackson played in the Avengers, which we're assuming means that she helps pull the Guardians Of The Galaxy team together. Glenn Close is a six time Academy Award nominee, even though she has never won. She is perhaps best known for her role as Alex in Fatal Attraction. The Guardians Of The Galaxy is scheduled to be released in movie theaters in the United States on August 1, 2014.
