Gotham Casts a Female Firefly For Season Two

FOX's Gotham has cast a new, female version of the longtime Batman villain Firefly, TVLine reports.

It isn't clear from the character description or the report whether the character, played by Those Who Kill's Michelle Veintimilla, will replace or precede the traditional, male version of the masked arsonist. It seems likely, though, since we get a "young Cat Woman and soon-to-be Firefly" in here, that it's the former. Here's the official character description:

Enslaved by her brothers, a notorious gang of arsonists, Bridgit Pike is forced into the family business. When she catches the eye of Selina Kyle, the young Cat Woman and the soon-to-be-Firefly team up to put Bridgit's firestarting skills to good use. But after a deadly encounter with the Pike Brothers, the meek Cinderella is transformed into a vengeful supervillain, hell bent on destroying those who have wronged her.

Gotham returns Monday, September 21, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
