Gotham: First Look At Carol Kane As The Penguin's Mom

Fox has released (via Entertainment Weekly) a first look at Carol Kane, playing The Penguin's mom on Gotham.

As previously reported on Comicbook.com, Kane is playing the role of Gertrude Kapelput, who is the mother of Oswald Cobblepot (played by Robin Lord Taylor). Kane is scheduled to appear beginning in the second episode of Gotham.

Her character is described as "a proud and faded beauty; an old European character with delusions of grandeur."

Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment and produced by Warner Bros. Television, Gotham is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.

Gotham will premiere on FOX on Monday, September 22, 2014.
