Gotham Star: We Intend To Deal With the Birth of Batgirl

While it seems really hard to believe that Jim Gordon and Barbara Kean "aren't over," that's exactly what Gotham star Ben McKenzie had to say during a panel at Wizard World New Orleans today.

McKenzie teased that there are a lot of surprises coming up for the series' second season, and that while it seems incredible, there are some elements of the traditional mythology that will eventually come into play.

Asked about the biggest element of their relationship — the fact that their union produces a child in the comics, in the form of Barbara Gordon (Batgirl), McKenzie said "That is something we definitely hope to address in the life of the show."

It's hard to imagine just how that might unfold...

The second half of the season, which starts on February 29 on FOX, will feature Paul Reubens as The Penguin's father, Mister Freeze, and more.
