Lady Sabre

Best-selling author and comics writer Greg Rucka revealed today to backers of his Lady Sabre and the Pirates of the Ineffable Aether Kickstarter campaign that another successful Kickstarter campaign has added Her Ladyship to the list of playable Captains in a role-playing board game that has similar themes to Rucka and Rick Burchett's popular webcomic. Rucka's campaign is to fund a print run for copies of Lady Sabre, something that crowdfunding makes much easier because the comic's devoted fan base can pre-order the collection and other goods, essentially shouldering the printing costs to get their copy of a book that wouldn't otherwise exist. The Teramyyd: Earthsphere game's campaign, which ends in about 24 hours, will fund the creation of "an epic steampunk/fantasy/monster-fighting game of aeronautical questing! Battle sky pirates or become one in the world of Teramyyd." "The folks at IO World are raising funds for their game, Teramyyd: Earthsphere, and they're in their last 24 hours. It's a very cool looking steampunk board game with, yes, airship battles, and what look to be some astounding production values," Rucka told fans tonight. "They're including Her Ladyship, Captain Sabre, the Fourteenth Marchioness of Cascadia, and our hero, as one of the 21 captain cards that come with the game. "So you can play Teramyyd as Lady Sabre. "We call this a crossover. "We also call this flattering as can be." Check back tomorrow for much more with Rucka on Lady Sabre and the Kickstarter campaign to bring her to print.
