Karen Gillan goes bald

At 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, one of the big surprises of the Marvel Studios panel was when actress Karen Gillan removed her wig and revealed that she had shaved her head for her role as Nebula in Guardians Of The Galaxy. At Comic-Con, most of the fans applauded and gave shouts of approval for Karen Gillan's commitment to her role. However, Guardians Of The Galaxy director James Gunn tweeted after Comic-Con that he was getting hate messages over making Karen Gillan shave her head. James Gunn's tweet quickly got picked up by several news sites, including Comicbook.com. We reported exactly what Gunn wrote, but when some other sites picked up the story, they changed hate messages to death threats. In an online Q&A with fans, James Gunn clarified that he did not actually receive any death threats. James Gunn wrote, "No. This has been blown way out of proportion. Chalk it up to a slow news day. I got a few people criticizing me for 'making' Karen shave her head. I made fun of them. It was only a handful of people and no one made a death threat." Guardians Of The Galaxy is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on August 1, 2014.
