Halo 5: Guardians had a heck of a first week, with the largest launch of the franchise and the best-selling Xbox One exclusive game since the system's launch. With over $400 million in sales worldwide in its first week, the franchise is now over $5 billion total, according to a press release. That includes Halo-themed hardware sales, not just game software sales.

The records don't stop there, though, as the game's players have already played 12 million hours in campaign and 21 million hours total - yes, the multiplayer giant actually had more people play in campaign than competitive MP in its first week. It was also streamed by 330,000 people the first night it was released, generating 5.5 million views in its first week, which Microsoft attributes with an increase of digital sales: it's the best-selling digital Xbox Store game in an opening week.

Halo 5: Guardians is on sale digitally and physically now. Check out our review of the game here.
