Happy Birthday! Carrie Fisher Turns 59 Today

Happy birthday, Carrie Fisher! The iconic actress is celebrating her 59th birthday today.

Fisher skyrocketed into the great heights of fame after portraying Princess Leia Organa in Star Wars: Episode IV, V, and VI from 1977 to 1983. She'll be reprising her Star Wars role this December in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Fisher's other film credits (which exceed 85 roles) include When Harry Met Sally, Smallville, and a cameo in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

Prior to her jump to fame in Star Wars, Fisher appeared in Las Vegas shows with her mother starting at the age of 12. Outside of acting, she has written a bestselling novel, titled Postcards from the Edge.
