It's the first Saturday in May, and you know what that means!
...Well, yes, it likely means a new Marvel movie in the theaters. But besides that, it means that comic book retailers and fans all around the U.S. are enjoying Free Comic Book Day, an event where publishers provide retailers with ultra-low-cost comics that are distributed to fans for free in the hopes of drawing in new readers.
This year, there are over fifty titles to choose from, including looks into the future of superhero comics with DC's Divergent, Marvel's Secret Wars #0 and Image Comics' Savage Dragon Legacy. There's also sampler books from Zenescope, Legendary Comics and more on the racks, plus all-ages titles from BOOM!, Bongo, Archie and many more.
You can check out the full list of offerings and find a shop at the event's official website.
